"Mama" means baby food in Turkish. “Meme” means boobs. Also “mam” or “mam yapmak” used to refer action of eating.
The act done by mouth to pronounce "Mom" actually mimics eating or sucking. Pretty self-explanatory.
Because it was basically the sound made when opening mouth, in some languages to my knowledge especially Arabic, old words usually start with “M”.
According to a study (*), the sound of “Moma” when simultanously pronounced while babies looking to a circle shape, situmulates brain according to all measurements.
