Earth is on the center of universe or very close. And time flows from earth to all directions like an inflatin ballon. So expansion of universe is actually the time playing. 3D perception of outer space does not correspond to reality necessarily because direction of flow is relative. Universe is in the collapsing phase but it is not observable from the earth because earth is in the center. Although not necessarily not observable. Aliens come to realize universe is collapsing and there is a very interesting planet in the middle of the universe. Due to sheer impossibility of a random coincidence they try to explain this situation and upon observation of earth they come to conclusion that it may be possible to postpane the collapse by avoiding a wake up. Under normal conditions fate of the universe on collapse of time is unclear. But it seems like if they can change conditions to not trigger an awakening, there is a possibility of supranatural flow.
As consequence they decide to interfere with earth. Because of the ambiguity they try to be carefull and not to cause of wake up by causing extreme shock. Although it doesn‘t seem like time is just about to end, this doesn’t mean an awakening is not possible. Just ambigious.
They start with sending weird comets and observable ufo activities to make people accostumed to idea of aliens are coming. They are actually planning to make conditions better. But there may be complications.
On the process they come to realize there is a book which in where all these already written. Upon deep investigation they find out it can be calculated by floating Pi. And from that point they follow it. (Well, this part is relatively fictious.)
If universe created on purpose obviously humans were meant to be crazy. When there is no feedback loop, things go balistic straight. Even in matters of science. Aliens combined with time adjusted version of original buddhist theology is only solution imaginable within limits of physics.
