It suggest past events and mostly details can change at any moment. To what extent current is impacted is not clear. It is not easy for humans to understand it but aliens potentially can keep track of it they may like to trigger it for some reasons. Like scoring. It can be speculated that aliens were doing it to force their way into the earth or greater part of things. Although because they are already it and it is the current from human perspective it doesn't sound like very plausible idea. In this context action may include things like committing people into future actions that conflicts with the destiny and require alien interference. In case there is a destiny aliens can decipher. I guess without temporal randomness this wouldn't make sense.
It can be speculated in this context if ancient people knew about this they intentionally tried to render things vague to increase surface for potential changes. Like writing vague things in history exam and later trying to manipulate teacher to score higher. Although I am not speculating it was valid approach.
It actually almost seems like around the time 700-800 some weird events happened. Aliens keep trying provoking people to force destiny to alien take a part in some events. I am not sure what did happened around that time but obviously it wasn't enough so after 19th century it seems like they tried their luck. I mean Nuclear and stuff. Of course it all be fantasy I mean all the alien and human interactions. But because it almost seems like there are not interactions I mean they are not allowed to directly intervene with anything or something like that. It reinforces the main idea. Imagine aliens sends two ships to earth to help. One with wide scale surveillance and small agent equipment and one with equipment or aliens that would directly interact with humans. Engine of second one blows so only first one reaches. They don't try to send second one again to not push their luck. It may be better to have some safety threshold. Like some room for negligible accidents in order to avoid serious ones. It is actually the nature of this universe to keep ambiguity maybe that is why such events can traverse the history. In context of destiny otherwise statistically abnormal patterns appears. As it sounds like it invalidates the traversing causality. They are statistically abnormal because only they are like that.
The nature of autonomous agents sent by aliens is therefore were probably strictly autonomous. I mean they were probably doing it on purpose. Overall it is only fair for aliens to troll people I mean this doesn't require any explanation. So everything could be an El operated prank. Not that I think they are directly trolling though.
